Saturday 2 December – Fun Event!
Pick Your Own Christmas Tree for Free
10:00am - 3:00pm
Price: Free but donations warmly received
The staff at RSPB Farnham Heath nature reserve invite you to come and 'pull a pine'! It's a great opportunity to help maintain your local nature reserve by removing invasive young pine trees. As an added bonus you can also choose and cut down your own free Christmas tree straight from the heath! Donations will be warmly received to help fund continuing management at our reserve.
Put on some stout shoes and wrap up warm, but be prepared for wet weather and head down to the reserve. There will be plenty of help on hand to explain the safe use of tools which will be provided. You are welcome to join in for as long as you wish.
Children under16 need to be accompanied by an adult and we respectfully ask that you do not bring your dogs.
The ground can be uneven and therefore is not suitable for wheelchairs or mobility scooters.
Pines can be invasive and need to be removed from the heath to conserve the heathland birds, insects and reptiles. Your help will be invaluable in removing young trees and as an added bonus; you can choose a tree (or several trees) to take home for Christmas. Children can choose a small tree which can be potted up at home, decorated and put in their own room if desired.
All help and donations are greatly appreciated.
